Third and Fourth Grade Teacher

Barbara Correia grew up in Delaware and New Jersey (attending Delaware Valley Jr. Academy and Garden State Academy) before attending Columbia Union College where she received her degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood.  She married soon after college and has stayed in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring area since college.  She spent 10 years staying at home with her three daughters.

Mrs. Correia taught at Sligo Adventist School for 10 years in grades 3, Kindergarten, and 6.  During that time she received her Master Degree in Special Education which has been extremely helpful in her classroom teaching.  She has also tutored students with learning difficulties. 

Her goal is to meet each of the student's needs individually, as well as nurturing their spiritual growth towards Heaven.

Mrs. Correia enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
